Trade Policy

Your books should be in good condition (covers on, pages intact, no major stains, hardbacks must have dust jackets.) Please bring in only books that are in clean, readable condition with covers and spines intact. Books should not smell of cigarette smoke. Heavy underlining/highlighting is not acceptable. Moldy or torn books, spiders, bugs, pet hair and dirt are not very inviting, and we ask that you sort these out before bringing them to us.

If you have a lot of books you wish to trade, we recommend that you call ahead to arrange a time that is convenient. Call 256.207.3377 to arrange a time.

Trade credit is calculate at 20-25% of the cover price for most books.
Trade credit is applied to used books only. Not new books, collectibles, furniture or anything else.
Trade credit is used on only 1/2 of the purchase at a time. Example: $10 worth of used books are bought at the register. $5 needs to be paid [plus tax] and $5 in credit may be applied.
Trade credit has no cash value.
Credit accounts may not be "cashed out" at any time, and will expire after 2 years of inactivity.
Books accepted for trade are based on the quality of the book, quantity on hand, and demand at the discretion of the proprietor. First Street Finds does have the right to refuse books for trade.
This trade policy can change at any time at the discretion of First Street Finds and the Garage Antique Mall Inc.

Books we don't want: Encyclopedias, textbooks, romances before 2000, white spine/cover romance, Christian Fiction, cookbooks, non-fiction, Reader's Digest Condensed Books.
